The Bloggers Digest or TBD for short is a collection of original writings and highly curated links to the blogosphere.  We love to discover new blogs and share them with our readers. Our mission is to connect readers to quality, unique content in a simple and intuitive reading environment.

FAQs

What is the bloggers digest?

It’s a platform for readers to discover new quality content without searching for it and learn about the writers behind the blogs they read.
It also serves as a platform for bloggers to reach a larger audience and get more eyeballs on their work.  See this post.

Who is the bloggers digest?

We are a diverse group of professional and amateur writers who write, ponder life, interact with bloggers, curate blogs, conduct interviews and publish original content.  So far all the work (including most of the web development) that has been done on the site has been done with much love and labor on a volunteer basis.

How are the categories determined?

Categories are determined based on what we think is interesting to our readers and based on the quantity and quality of blogs we receive permission from in a given category.  Categories are not static, and as TBD progresses we hope to expand to feature many more categories.

How do I get my site on TBD?

If you are interested in having your blog be featured on our site, please email outreach@thebloggersdigest.com. Please note that you must be the owner of the site in order to submit the site to us for review. In the future, we may turn this into a bi-annual submission process if we receive a larger than anticipated volume of emails.

Is it free to be featured?

Yes, it’s completely free to be featured on TBD.  But please note that due to the limitations of this site (including technical considerations like loading time, bandwidth), there is a limit to the number of blogs we can feature on this site at one time. If your blog is not selected please do not consider this at all to be a judgment on the quality of your site.

By submitting your site for review to us via email, you are granting TBD permission to create links and thumbnails to your site's posts via its RSS feed.  The links contain the post title, author, image where appropriate (up to 150px wide for small thumbnails except comics and up to around 400px wide for medium thumbnails depending on mobile screen size), and sometimes up to a 150 character or 20-word description (usually the first one or two sentences from the post).  You can give permission for small thumbnails only or both small and medium-sized thumbnails.

Could Aggregation Hurt My Search Engine Ranking?

Absolutely not. We work really hard to ensure that if there is any impact on your site's SEO it is a positive one. Ninety-seven percent of the external content on this site is linked through Feedzy lite. Feedzy lite does not publish any posts on TBD so there is no duplicate content for any search engines to discover and no impact on SEO.

The remaining three percent of content that cannot be linked properly using feedzy lite (this applies mainly to comics where images may come in all different shapes and sizes, or to blogs where images may need to be directly attributed at times, or feeds that need modification), in those instances where we need to use feed to post, we are very careful to only retain only a portion of a post, to specify the external source link as the canonical link so that the source URL is credited in the search rankings, and to expire the post after it is no longer needed (posts are usually expired within one month on average). By using canonical links we ensure that the source site receives the benefits of all views, clicks, and search engine rankings to any originating post.
